D’Angelo and The Vanguard – BLACK MESSIAH

We was thinking where D’Angelo went for real but we never lost the faith. We always believed in his ability to deliver great music we just missed his unique sound.
You may have remember him from his massive début single ‘Brown Sugar’ which sounds just as now as when it was first released was 20 years ago.

D’Angelo grew his musical talent from an early age and progressed from teaching himself how to play the piano to winning a talent show at the ‘Harlem Apollo Theatre’ 3 times in a row when he was 18.

D’Angelo continued to develop his silky smooth style and with the 2000 release of his Grammy winning début album ‘Voodoo’ and a No:1 track ‘How Does It Feel’ he soon became affiliated with the ‘Neo-soul’ movement alongside other deep, soulful artists such as Eryka Badu, Lauren Hill and Maxwell.

Following the release of ‘How Does It Feel’ D’Angelo became more conscious over himself and his music. His latest album “Black Messiah” is filled with such a wide variety of emotions that you can literally pick a tune for every frequency!

Our favourite track on the ‘Black Messiah’ album at the moment is ‘Prayer’. This song just jumps out at you and touches your soul, leaving you feeling revived after listening to it.
